The mechanical contract will include installation of five Trane rooftop units, five LC Systems kitchen heat and grease hoods, as well as ventilation for the dishwasher. The restaurant will have the standard Texas Roadhouse look, featuring exposed galvanized sheet metal ductwork in the dining area. Ace Air Conditioning will pay special attention to detail for the installation of the ductwork to make sure it is visually appealing as well as functional.

The grand opening for the Texas Roadhouse of Lakeland will be held in February, 2012.

Job Started: SSV Surgery Center

Ocala, FL - Ace Electrical has been awarded the electrical contract for the new 8,500 square foot ambulatory surgery center to be built on Pine Avenue in Ocala. Along with the surgery center, this state of the art healthcare facility will include medical office space and outparcels made up of 27,000 square feet of building pads for addition medical offices.

Ace Electrical will install all of the power and lighting systems for the critical care and general care areas as well as for the medical offices. This includes a 100 kilowatt diesel powered backup generator and specialized nurse call system.

Ace will be working alongside Cotter Ryan, an outstanding Central Florida builder specializing in new commercial projects and renovations with notable experience in medical buildings. The facility is set to be completed May, 2011.

Job Started: Country Inn and Suites

Port Orange, FL - Ace Air Conditioning was awarded the mechanical contract for the new Country Inn and Suites located at 5802 Journey's End Drive across from the Pavilion of Port Orange. The four-story building will include eighty-seven sleeping rooms as well as a conference room, a fitness room and a spacious lobby.

Ace will partner with local general contractor, J & A builders, Inc. The mechanical contract includes installation of four Addison 100% fresh air split systems, sixty-seven Amana PTAC room units, Twenty Amana VTACs, seven straight cool Carrier split systems, two Carrier ductless mini splits as well as exhaust fans, a laundry chute, commercial dryer vents, Onity thermostats with PIR sensors and remote PIRs in the two room suites.

The hotel is set to open December 5th, 2011.

Job Started: CVS - Gainesville

Gainesville, FL - Ace Air Conditioning Inc. was awarded the mechanical contract for the new Gainesville CVS Pharmacy located at 1619 SW 13th Street near the University of Florida. CVS is one of the nation's largest pharmacy chains. With more than 7,000 locations, this company operates the most drugstores in the United States.

The two-story building will include a double pharmacy drive-through and a photo café and on the second floor, regional CVS offices along with additional office space available for lease.

Ace is installing seven York rooftop units, four Sanyo ductless mini splits and all sheet metal ductwork. Ace Air Conditioning will be working on this project along side of Hawkins Construction. The Tampa Bay based company, founded in 1975, is recognized as one of the nations top construction firms.

"DeBary-based family business set to expand after lean times"

"DEBARY -- When the recession hit a few years ago, officials at Ace Air Conditioning started slashing expenses.

Today, the DeBary-based family-owned business is leaner and getting ready to expand its physical plant and available services.

Crews are currently constructing a 5,600-square-foot addition behind the company's existing 2,700 square foot site here at 2985 Enterprise Road. The new space will be used for warehouse space, a training room and several offices.

Scott Palmateer, operations manager, said the move was prompted by the recent addition of a new division, Ace Electrical. Cory Palmateer, a master electrician, is joining his brother Scott and their father Eddie Palmateer in the business. Eddie Palmateer founded Ace Air Conditioning in 1979." ....

Job Started: ACE AIR CONDITIONING AND ACE ELECTRICAL EXPANSION

New Building to Include Warehouse, Offices and Training Facility

Debary, FL - Ace Air Conditioning is expanding into a new building. The 5,600 square foot structure will include a state of the art warehouse along with office space and a training room. The new facility is being built behind the existing office building on Enterprise Road.

"This is a new era for Ace Air Conditioning, and we are very excited about the direction our company is taking," says Scott Palmateer, Operations Manager. The expansion comes after the recent addition of Ace Electrical. Ace now provides both Air Conditioning and Electrical services for new construction as well as existing structures.

The ground floor of the building will be mainly warehouse space and will also hold the offices of the warehouse and service managers. The second level will be office space, meeting rooms and a training center for employees.

The new building will be completed May, 2011. Ace Air Conditioning and Ace Electrical expect this expansion to help the company continue to grow and improve.

Most Creative Float : Orange City Holiday Parade 2010

Frosty. He's back.... and this time, it's personal.

Despite his renown inability to maintain structural integrity in non-freezing climates, Frosty appeared stable and in good spirits Sunday, as he waved to the onlookers of the 2010 Orange City Holiday Parade.... Children and adults both caught themselves reliving a moment of childhood too quickly forgotten as a real-life Frosty the Snowman rode by on his giant stack of christmas presents. Surrounded by the crowd and preceded and by the roving snowflake girls (rumoured to be Frosty's secret service), Frosty had a veritable entourage of fans and supporters cheering him on and (ostensibly) watching his back.

But all good things must come to an end, and alas, this winter festivity would reap benefits that Frosty would never sow.

Frosty was last seen in the early evening hours, shortly after the parade ended, pacing in front of a gas station ice chest, sweating profusely and fumbling with a carrot. After intense investigation and analysis, our finest refrigeration experts surmise that Frosty was only able to sustain himself long enough to endure the last few moments of his second parade of the weekend.

The fact that such abnormal longevity was acheived at all in a snowman should be considered a feat in itself and a testament to the effectiveness of silk hat magic, especially when considering the recent decrease in the average snow-male life expectancy. This may perhaps be due in small part to the unusually cold weather for Florida at this time of year. As of the time this article was written and published... Frosty is unreachable for comment and is generally assumed to have filtered into the Florida aquifer.

We're looking forward to competing again next year!!! Thanks again to all the local businesses that contributed and built floats!

P.S. If you come accross a silk hat in Deland that reeks of damp charcoal and cartoon magic, please schedule a maintenance on your HVAC/Refrigeration equipment so we can come pick it up.

1st Prize Float : Holiday Parade

The float themed "Frosty the Snowman's Winter Wonderland" took first prize at the holiday parade that flowed through the streets of downtown Deland last Saturday...

Each year, Ace Air Conditioning competes with other local vendors in an attempt to build the most festive holiday parade float in the city!!! This year's event was no exception, as local citizens gathered in droves to see what the community had come up for the 62nd annual DeLand Jaycees Christmas Parade... The large parade events garner an ever increasing friendly competititive spirit as made evident by the annual increase of size and complexity of the floats themselves...

Here's what the West Volusia Beacon had to say: "Acing first place in the parade - Ace Air Conditioning, [see pic], rolled away with first prize in the commercial division, during the DeLand Jaycees Christmas Parade on Dec 4. This year's theme was 'Christmas magic on mainstreet'."

The Ace Air Conditioning crew would like to thank to everyone involved in making the parade a blast for all in attendance!!! Special thanks go to the Deland Middle School Marching Band, the Cub scouts (Pack 531), the DeLand Rotary Club, The House Next Door, Stetson University, and the City of Deland.

Contract Awarded: Tomoka Landfill

Port Orange, FL - Ace Air Conditioning has been awarded the mechanical contract for a new break room to be built at the Tomoka Landfill on Tomoka Farms Road.

The HVAC contract will include installation of a high efficiency 3.5 ton Carrier Infinity straight cool system, a Carrier EZ Flex air filter and a communication Infinity thermostat. Ace will also provide and install an air to air energy recovery system, a Bioclimatic air purification system and a portable dehumidifier, as well as all exhaust ventilation and all sheet metal ductwork.

Ace Air Conditioning will partner with Schuller Construction. This project is set to be completed in January of 2011.

Sanford, FL - As one of the leading energy efficient A/C companies in the State, Ace Air Conditioning, Inc. was chosen for the mechanical contract at the new Primrose School of Heathrow/ Lake Mary. Ace is working along side HDE Construction to create the green building.

Contract Awarded : Bethune Cookman University - Lee Rhyant Living Center

Daytona Beach, FL - Ace Air Conditioning was awarded the mechanical contract for the new Lee E. Rhyant Residential Life Center at Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach. The 62,175 square foot building will be comprised of three wings and include housing for 270 students as well as a café, classrooms, computer labs, guest suites and study, lounge and laundry areas.

Ace Air Conditioning along with TDH Construction will be using energy efficient materials and building techniques in order in diminish this facility's impact on the environment by reducing overall energy consumption. Ace is installing 130 highly efficient Daiken units. Each dorm room suite will have its own separate temperature control while using the same outdoor condensing unit. Ace will also install the kitchen hood and Ansul system for the café.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the state-of-the-art co-educational honors facility will be Thursday, October 22, 2010.

Job Started: Debary Presbyterian Church and Daycare

Debary, FL - Ace Air Conditioning was awarded the mechanical contract for a new preschool building for Debary Presbyterian Church on East Highbanks Road. The original church building was burned to the ground after a lightning strike in August 2009. The new preschool will also serve as a temporary sanctuary for the church until a new one is built.

Ace will be working along side Senatore Construction, owned and operated by James Senatore, a Leesburg based architect who has designed and built more than 50 churches. The mechanical contract for the preschool includes seven Carrier straight cool split systems, as well as all ductwork, exhaust fans and associated ducts and all grilles and thermostats.

The church congregation expects to be holding their services in this new building as soon as April, 2010.

Job Started: Children's Home Society

South Daytona , FL - Ace Air Conditioning is changing out four rooftop package units at the Children's Home Society on South Ridgewood Avenue. A team of seven installers is expected to work from 6:00 a.m. until late evening in order to get this project completed as quickly as possible without disrupting the services of this non profit organization dedicated to helping children and families in need. Ace installers will work all day on July, 14th, 2010 to complete the project, then will return on the 15th to ensure that all four units are working optimally.

Following installation, Ace Air Conditioning will continue to service all HVAC systems at The North Coastal Children's Home Society with a preventative maintenance plan that includes biannual system check ups and cleaning as well as quarterly filter changes.
